The only excuse you need is love.

Couple portraits are not reserved for wedding days.

My portrait sessions are very relaxed and my aim is to provide you with the most beautiful portraits you have ever had together. In my mind, every couple deserves to have at least one professionally taken portrait that will stand the test of time.

For those of you who are getting married and are nervous about wedding photography, this is also a great way to get used to working with a professional photographer. Your love story and your relationship is so much more than your wedding day, so having images to reflect your everyday is equally special.

Possibly your biggest concern before the shoot is that you don’t like having your photo taken and you don’t like posing. This is perfectly normal, 95% of my couples also feel this way. But please don’t worry, because I will look after you and guide you the whole way.

Please just come to the shoot and be yourself.

You don’t need to practise your poses or your selfie face at home because it doesn’t help. In fact, leave your selfie-face at home. When you are “trying” to look good is when it often doesn’t work at all.

I am very relaxed, easy-going & bubbly by nature. I like things to feel relaxed and natural. I welcome natural affection because that is magic in photographs. Sometimes even the most natural looking photos do require a bit of posing though, but I will guide you on this to ensure it does look natural, please trust me on this because the result is always worth it. But I will never ask you to do something you don’t want to do. You can tell me if you don’t like something and I’ll move on to something else instead.

Some couple like to request specific locations that have meaning to them (for example, where they had their first date or like to go on weekends). It’s really open to what you prefer. I will always give my input in terms of logistics, light and so on. If you are not sure, then leave it to me and I’ll make a plan.

The shoot generally takes between 1 – 2 hours. Some locations offer so much goodness in one spot and so we can get so much done in a short space of time. Sometimes we need a bit of a walk to get the selection of images I’d like you to have. Sometimes it’s because you’re having so much fun.

We can shoot in most weather as long as I can use natural light. Cloudy days are actually great for photography as the light is nice and even. If it rains heavily, indoors is also an option. I have done entire shoots at home or in hotel rooms, you’ll be suprised what magic can be captured with one good window that provides natural light.

If it’s a sunny day, the best light is first thing in the morning or in the late afternoon. This is because overhead sun is very difficult to shoot in. So if I have to shoot in bright midday sun I will actually just be looking for shade. This is also worth bearing in mind for outdoor weddings.

For urban London shoots in the summer, I suggest weeknights. Not only is the light perfect at this time, but it also means you don’t have to take time off work.

Re-scheduling because of bad weather is fine subject to be able to find an alternate date.

This is totally up to you, but it’s nice to think of it as a date .

Wear something that makes you feel good about yourself because it will also come across that way in photos. It doesn’t need to be fancy if you don’t want, but going a bit smarter that you would at home does help. I always suggest that you both wear some sort of bright colour(s) as it will make the pictures look nicely vibrant. This is particularly useful on cloudy days or in winter. Try to avoid too many neutral colours like beige, black or grey. Even just a bright scarf, tie, or small accessory will make a huge difference.

As we’ll be walking a bit, please wear comfy shoes.

It’s best to carry as little as possible so please do not bring much to carry – no backpacks, gym bags etc. Small handbags are fine, I can also carry purses/phones in my camera bag.

Wear as much make-up as you would like to. If you don’t usually wear any at all, then I suggest some light, natural make-up and some lip colour/ gloss – this is just to brighten the face a little bit for the camera and to smooth your complexion. It does make a difference and you will still look natural.

All your images will be provided to you via an online gallery. You will be able to download the images to keep, you will also be able to order prints from the UK.

I supply pretty much all the images I shoot, so the number will vary. But you can expect at least 50.

Delivery time is around 1-2 weeks.

If you would also like me to take individual portraits on the shoot, please remind me on the day. I do try to do this anyway, as I know everyone needs a good profile photo for social media.
