GILI TRAWANGAN HONEYMOON // Mario & Elena
Gili Trawangan is an excellent choice of honeymoon destination, it is an island that offers a lifestyle to cater for everyone who visits. As it has no motorised transport, it automatically has an easygoing vibe which is very different from the hustle & bustle of Bali.
If you do choose to honeymoon in Gili Trawangan, I would recommend to give yourself at least a few days, 3 at the very least because of the travel time to and from the island. But ideally 5 days, if you really want to be able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There are so many beautiful resorts to choose from and you will want to have time to relax in your resort, perhaps by the pool, as well as try out other activities such as cycling around the island, scuba diving, snorkelling, drinking cocktails by the beach at sunset, having a massage and hanging in a hammock somewhere. There is also a vast and varied amount of delicious food in all the various restaurants which cater to all, from local Indonesia Warungs, to vegan to authentic Italian. You will find all appetites catered for here.
Mario & Elena married back home in Spain and honeymooned in Gili Trawangan and did all the above. They said that one of their favourite parts of their time on the island was cycling through the less touristy parts in the centre of the island, seeing local life in the village and enjoying the tranquility of the forested areas.
I wish them both so much happiness together, I really loved spending time with them.
